Mechanical Project Engineer (M/F) – 100% permanent employment

Your mission:

You will contribute to the design and implementation of large-scale industrial projects for the energetic materials industry, from the order to the commissioning of complete plants at our customers’ sites.

Your responsibilities:

  • As the customer’s first point of contact: manage correspondence and monitor budget and deadlines
  • Evaluate and plan the project: utilities, material flow, PFD, P&ID
  • Participate in HAZOP and other project risk analysis’
  • Design and specify the project: plant components, ATEX zones, Supervise the preparation of technical drawings
  • Prepare and transmit documentation to the customer
  • Manage supplies and ensure routing of materials
  • Inspect equipment and carry out tests
  • Plant commissioning, operators’ training and follow-up until final acceptance by the customer.

Your profile:

  • M.Sc., B.Sc. or equivalent HES/FH degree in mechanical engineering or similar
  • At least 5 years’ experience in the design and implementation of complete technical projects
  • Very good mechanical, hydraulic and thermal engineering skills
  • Proficiency in complex calculations (using Excel) and process optimization
  • Knowledge of electrical and safety standards: ATEX, ISA, IEC, NEMA and instrumentation
  • Responsible, rigorous and attentive to detail, able to learn, flexible and solutions-oriented
  • Fluency in French and English (B2/C1)
  • Swiss nationality, valid work permit or EU citizen eligible for B permit 
  • Available for 10-30% European and intercontinental travels

Chemist (M/F) – 100% permanent employment

Your mission:

You will be responsible for the development, optimization and industrial implementation of complex chemical processes, while guaranteeing technical support in response to the needs of BIAZZI SA’s customers, from the laboratory phase to the commissioning of installations for industry active in the fields of hydrogenation, nitration and energetic materials.

Process development and optimization:

  • Develop process concepts and carry out preliminary equipment sizing
  • Provide chemical and analytical support for customer projects
  • Take an active part in the chemical commissioning of our customers’ plants

Laboratory test management:

  • Organize and supervise hydrogenation tests according to customer requirements
  • Analyze and interpret results to ensure industrial extrapolation
  • Write technical reports in English and maintain regular communication with customers

Technical support and sales activities:

  • Prepare technical offers in collaboration with the sales department
  • Present results and technical solutions to customers
  • Participate in conferences, symposia and exhibitions to promote BIAZZI technologies

Research & Development:

  • Develop and improve our existing processes with a constant focus on innovation
  • Carry out projects to develop new areas of technology in collaboration with research groups made up of experts and external consultants

Your Profile

  • M.Sc. in chemistry or chemical engineering, possibly with a PhD
  • Very good knowledge of and strong interest in organic, analytical and industrial chemistry and chemical engineering
  • 2-4 years’ experience as a production or development chemist in the chemical industry is an asset
  • Ability to perform complex calculations and dimensioning (on Excel) in the design of chemical production plants
  • Responsible, rigorous and flexible, customer-oriented with good oral and written communication skills and a taste for teamwork
  • French mother tongue or excellent level of French and English (C1 level min.). Other languages a plus (Italian, German)
  • Swiss nationality, valid work permit or EU citizen eligible for B permit
  • Available for 10-30% European and intercontinental business trips

Electricity & Automation Engineer (M/F) – 100% permanent employment

Your Mission:

You will design and implement automated industrial systems, from planning to commissioning, to ensure the operation and control of installations for the chemical and energetic materials industries.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Manage the entire electrical, automation and programming project
  • Monitor project budget and deadlines
  • Set up an automation network to control installations
  • Identify and document all electrical signals required to operate the automation system
  • Participate in HAZOP and other project risk analysis
  • Dimension electrical cabinets, draw up and organize technical documentation, program PLCs, HMI, DCS
  • Create, organize and transmit technical documentation
  • Manage supplies, monitor manufacturing and ensure delivery of materials
  • Inspect installations, carry out tests and commission the system, up to final acceptance by the customer
  • Provide customer training and post-commissioning technical support

Your Profile:

  • B.Sc. or HES/FH engineering degree in Automation or similar
  • CFC/EFZ in automation or polymechanics is an asset
  • At least 3-4 years’ experience in technical project management, maintenance and troubleshooting at customer sites. Experience in the chemical industry is an asset.
  • Very good knowledge of industrial automation techniques
  • Good knowledge of PLCs and programming software: Siemens, TIA Portal, SIMATIC PCS7, S7, WINCC
  • Good knowledge of electrical diagrams and EPLAN electrical diagram management software
  • Knowledge of electrical and safety standards: ATEX, ISA, IEC, NEMA, etc.
  • Knowledge of IT network techniques
  • Responsible, rigorous and attentive to detail, able to learn, flexible and solutions-oriented
  • Fluent in French and English (B2/C1)
  • Swiss nationality, valid work permit or EU citizen eligible for B permit 
  • Available for 10-30% travels in Switzerland, Europe and intercontinental
