Hydrogenation Technology Licenses
BIAZZI has developed a portfolio of proprietary processes tailored to different industries. All of the processes have been developed by highly trained experts at BIAZZI’s R&D Center. Thanks to BIAZZI’s scale-up capabilities, it can provide a full engineering package including guaranties on production capacities, product quality, consumptions, etc.
Toluenediamine
Toluenediamine (TDA) is commonly employed as a key component in the production of polyurethane elastomers and coatings. Its versatile properties make it valuable in enhancing the resilience and durability of various industrial materials.
BIAZZI’s proprietary process provides our clients with a full package including the Basic Engineering and Key Equipment not only for the hydrogenation and filtration but also for the TDA purification, the nitration of toluene and the treatment of the waste water produced during the process.
This process enables to produce high quality TDA with very low amounts of heavy compounds.
Phenylenediamine
Phenylenediamine (PDA) is a building block in the production of various polymers such as aramid fibres and Kevlar. It also plays a crucial role in hair dyes, contributing to the formulation of vibrant and enduring colours.
BIAZZI has recently developed a process enabling a safe and reliable PDA production.
Polyols Production
In the production of sugar-free and reduced-sugar food products, polyols such as xylitol, sorbitol, and mannitol serve as alternatives to traditional sweeteners. Additionally, polyols may also be employed in coatings for certain food items, adding a protective layer or enhancing texture.
BIAZZI has developed a specific process for the production of hydrogenated polyols. BIAZZI offers polyols producers a competitive position in the market under the highest safety standards.
BIAZZI’s proposes multiple solutions for the design and construction of the polyols plant that ranges from basic engineering and key equipment up to a fully mounted SKID unit.
Surfactants (DMAPA)
Dimethylaminopropylamine (DMAPA) is mainly incorporated in the preparation of surfactants widely used in the personal care and agrochemical industries.
BIAZZI’s High Performance reactor produces DMAPA with high selectivity and for a wide range of capacities under continuous operations while keeping the catalyst consumption to a very low level.
Furfural and Derivatives
Furfural is an organic compound that may be produced from agricultural waste products such as corn cobs and oat hulls.
Furfural and its derivatives may be used as building blocks or as solvents for synthesis. These chemicals provide an alternative to petrochemical based products.
BIAZZI offers processes for the production of furfurylalcohol, tetrahydrofuran, methyl tetrahydrofuran and many others.
Maleic Anhydride and Derivatives
Maleic anhydride and its derivatives are used as chemical intermediates in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals, polymers, and resins.
BIAZZI has developed two key processes for the production of special anhydrides.
First, a Diels-Alder reaction where methyltetra- and tetrahydrophthalic anhydride (MTHPA/THPA) are formed from maleic anhydride and butadiene or isoprene.
Second, a highly efficient and selective hydrogenation of maleic anhydride/acid, MTHPA or THPA, into succinic anhydride/acid, methylhexa and hexahydrophthalic anydride (MHHPA, HHPA).
These processes can be run either in batch or in continuous.
Non-Phthalate Plasticizers
Non-phthalate plasticizers may be developed through the hydrogenation of phthalates. These phthalate-free plasticizers not only improve the physical properties of plastics but also contribute to a safe product for human health compared to traditional phthalate-based plasticizers.
BIAZZI’s aromatic ring hydrogenation industrial process and BIAZZI’s high performance reactor allow our clients to efficiently produce numerous alternatives to phthalate-based plasticizers.
Hydrocarbon resins
Hydrocarbon resins are used as tackifiers and modifiers in the adhesives and coatings industries. These resins enhance adhesion, provide stability and contribute to the overall performance of various formulations.
BIAZZI’s resin hydrogenation process provides its Customers with a reliable and cost-effective solution for the selective production of customized materials precisely tailored to their requirements. Depending on the type of resin, the proposed process is batch or continuous.
Other Processes
Upon request by the Customer, BIAZZI has the capability to efficiently develop and optimize other processes in a short time. For further details on any hydrogenation or gas-liquid reaction of your interest, please reach out to us through our contact form.
